MA Furion maiden flights

One of the difficulties with flight reviews is you need near perfect conditions in order to truly assess the capabilities of a machine. With winter being upon us this is slowing up the review process as we struggle to find days where it either isn't too cold, blowing a gale, raining or lately snowing.
Anyhow, difficulties aside today was one such day where conditions although chilly they were suitable for a test flight (or three). The MA Furion 450 was stowed in the car and a few minutes later she was spooled up and hovering. Just a few clicks of forward trim to level her out but the tail is acting up. Some investigation and the brass sleeve on the tail pitch ring is causing some binding, after some field adjustments all was looking good. Second flight I got in some basic 3D but it all feels a little sluggish on the cyclics. Once again back to the bench and up the swash mixes to give a lot more throw. Third flight, now we are much more in the ball park, flips feel light and fast, the power is good, tail is holding nice with no wag. I've got some bounce on the tail with hard collective input so still some tuning to do on the gyro. I flew out the pack and initial impressions are good, the heli tracks nice, power is awesome in fact maybe too much and she seems to fly nice and straight. I'm going to have to put in a few flights to get used to this model, it is quite different to the Align 450s I usually fly, it feels faster and a little more willing to bite if you get it wrong. I'll save the full flight write up for the review :)
