Microheli T-Rex 450 carbon tail boom supports

Supports

The following is a product overview of the MicroHeli Carbon Tail Braces.

The MicroHeli carbon tail braces consist of some carbon rod and CNC ends. The CNC ends are just CA'd onto the carbon rod as part of the build. Also included is a CNC clamp which goes halfway up the carbon rods and introduces an extra level of rigidity in the tail braces. The clamp is fitted by loosening the two screws enough that the carbon rods can be inserted sideways into the clamp. The screws are then tightened causing the clamp to secure itself onto the carbon rods. This is the first example of tail braces on the T-Rex that have featured this type of clamp. The idea being to make the carbon rods have a greater level of rigidity and therefore reduce vibration effects on the tail boom. Aside from this extra clamp the tail braces are very similar to the Align tail braces except that the carbon rod is thicker and has CNC mounts instead of plastic.

In the pictures below you can see the clamp in position and how it introduces the extra rigidity to the tail braces.

The overall system is very effective and the best example that I have seen for reducing vibration on the tail boom.

In flight vibration is minimised and the whole system appears to be very effective.
